Vivian E. Drory is the Director of the Neuromuscular Diseases Unit at the Department of Neurology, Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. She is a Professor of Neurology at Tel-Aviv University and the Head of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine (Tel-Aviv University). Her main research interests are in the genetics, epidemiology and biomarkers of motor neuron diseases (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, primary lateral sclerosis, adult spinal muscular atrophy).
For the last 20 years she leads the first and largest ALS clinic in Israel and contributed to the establishment of modern approaches in patient care and support, as well as to a better understanding of disease mechanisms through extensive basic and clinical research.
Vivian E. Drory is the author of many scientific articles, among them: “Generalized epileptic seizures as the presenting symptom of lacunar infarction in the brain”, “Electrophysiologic evaluation of upper motor neuron involvement in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis”, “Evoked potential studies in the antiphospholipid syndrome: differential diagnosis from multiple sclerosis”, “Cross-cultural variation in mental health at end of life in patients with ALS”, “Influence of statins treatment on survival in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis”, “Autonomic impairment in a transgenic mouse model of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis” and others.
